three dozen reasons to know you'll like looking through Go Away Garage blogspot

Above a WW2 Crosley 3 wheeler
Gas in the spark plugs... wow, that was a long time ago
I think the above is the supercharged straight eight
not good to see your back wheel pass you by
Stutz Blackhawk at Ormand Beach

Steam powered lawn mowers.... your neighbors would freak out.
crew cab model a, custom made

Great old vintage bike stand

They said it's photoshopped, but I don't care
Ner a car

They look like they are bolted to a bar under the bikes, probably a carnival ride

Above is a Willys or Graham I think
I like the van without the headlights, nice custom bodywork look
Private Hawaiian plantation tourist trainride

Morgan, very early I bet
I'd never heard before that Oral Roberts (televangelist) had bought a Futurliner... huh
That helmet is terrific
I know I have forgotten what I used to know about the above dragster.
1906 Stanley Steamer set the land speed record for steam powered cars at Ormand Beach, and that 126 mph record still stands. Steam was obsolete so quickly after Stanley and Doble perfected its use in cars, that no one even tried o break their record
Way cool Triumph gas tanks stringed art. I doubt it plays, but it does look incredible

Gyro stabilized car
Vespa in the back of a Citreon 2cv... awesome

see these and a whole lot more at http://goawaygarage.blogspot.com/ but don't look while at work, there is a lot of hardwood floors and tatays

Sidecars and motorbikes

The above was a young woman named Della Crewe who decided to drive from Waco Texas to New York with her dog Trouble in 1915. It was 5300 some odd miles.

Also notable for being a Harley with a sidecar, ... but these are different sidecars

the above and below are ambulance sidecars

Harley CEO gave himself a 6.4 million dollar bonus, for the worst sales year in 12 years

Harley Davidson Inc. CEO, Keith Wandell is paying himself a $6.4 million bonus for Harley’s worst sales year since 1999.

It was also disclosed that HD accepted a secret $2.3 billion bailout in 2008. Harley reported a $146.5 million profit in 2010, compared with a $55.1 million loss in 2009.

In 2010, new union contracts saw a total of 2,300 job cuts in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin plus reduced wages and benefits for the remaining union employees, for a total cost saving that will eventually add up to $50 million annually

Totally copied from http://goawaygarage.blogspot.com but what is there to do when coming across this info? Not remark on it?

The Indian vs Harley (pre 1965) rivalry is going to be the focus of a race this week near Yosemite Park, California

This group consists of a pair of Indian Twins, three Excelsior Ace Fours, and at least one Harley Davidson, all ready for some real road racing on a public road.

For eighteen years Harley & Indian enthusiasts in Australia have been recreating the rivalry that was so much a part of motorcycling in the Twenties, Thirties, and Forties of the last century. In 2011 we are bringing that Rivalry home to America where the bikes were built! The Great Indian V Harley Race of 2011 will be based in Oakhurst California, right on the doorstep to Yosemite.

During the ride we will have checkpoints, timed mileage sections and other challenges. At each checkpoint the rider will be earning points for his brand of motorcycle. At the end of our event we will gather for a banquet feast and crown the race victor and who will receive bragging rights for the next year, as the winner of the great race.

Event Registration fee: $185.00

All bikes must be 1965 & older, and older bikes will now receive an incentive!

1940-1965 Models - No Bonus Points
1930-1939 Models - 10% Bonus added to your point total
1920-1929 Models - 20% Bonus added to your point total
1900-1919 Models - 30% Bonus added to your point total

So far we have several bikes from the teens, twenties and thirties entered, including a 1915 HD Ghost Model!

Day one: Oakhurst to Mammoth Pool
Day two: Oakhurst to Yosemite Park
Day three: Oakhurst to Mariposa
